If someone were to ask me, “Do you want your children to learn foresight, consequences of decisions, resilience, how to handle pressure, determination, and strategic planning?” I would emphatically respond in the affirmative and ask how. If they responded with, “Teach them how to play chess,” I’d be taken aback. However, chess does teach those skills, and there is no better medium I have found to learn the game than ChessKid.com.

Best Moment

The six of us were synced up on a video call from three separate homes trying to simultaneously break clues and pin the thefts to the notorious art thief. We had spent a good 20 minutes on a single clue, pouring over every possible detail in the dossier. Finally, my sister-in-law jumped up and screamed, “I found it!” startling the rest of us. Once our heart rates slowed down, she explained it to us, and we could all move on together. =-)

The Room Video Game

Intro

My wife and I have a monthly at-home date night. This helps us stay connected to each other while disconnecting from the world. While some at-home date nights get interrupted by the kids (grrrrrr…), this one went off without a hitch!

Let me set the scene for you: all blinds and curtains closed; all lights off; couch scooted up close to the tv; long HDMI cable connecting our PC to the tv; and a tv tray set up in front of the couch with a wireless mouse and mousepad.
